Kerry T. Kreisler, age 92, of Cannon Falls, died Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the Gardens of Cannon Falls. Kerry Thompson Kreisler was born on November 14, 1924 in Fennimore, WI, the son of LeRoy and Nina (Thompson) Kreisler. He grew up in Wisconsin and graduated from East High School in Madison in 1942. Kerry served in the Army Air Force during WWII from 1942 to 1945. He then enlisted in the Air Force, serving from 1951-1952. On May 1, 1951, Kerry was united in marriage to Helen Simpson in Madison. They have been married 66 years, 3 months, and 19 days. In March of 1953 they moved to Hampton, MN. Kerry went to work for his brother-in-law Howard Showers, building boats and other odds and ends. In 1954 he and Helen moved to Cannon Falls. In 1957 Kerry joined the carpenter's union and went to work for Graus Construction in Hastings. He worked on many large company buildings, churches, and schools. He worked on many jobs around the country and Helen would join him for a year or so. In 1957 they bought 10 acres of land east of town. He built their home and raised his family there. Kerry retired in 1990. He enjoyed hunting big game, fishing, golf, and traveling. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church, the VFW, and a former member of the sportsmen's club, the Cannon Golf Club, and the St. Paul Rod and Gun Club. Survivors include his wife Helen, sons Kerry J. (Darla) and Kirk R. (Missy); grandchildren Kelly, Kory, Kyle, Kim, Aaron, Ryan, Rachel, and Chad; great-grandchildren Chloe, Ashlyn, Luke, Makenna, Kaden, Kaleb, Gavin, Brayden, Bailey, Devon, Dylan, and Jane; and many nieces and nephews. Kerry was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Greg and Randy Kreisler; his sisters Arlene Hansen and Judy McElroy; brothers-in-law Howard Showers, James Simpson, Donald Simpson, Spencer McElroy, George Thorson, Robert Simpson, and Willis Hanson; sister-in-law Gloria Keisler; as well as several grandnieces and grandnephews. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 pm, on Monday, August 28, 2017 at the First English Lutheran Church, 511 W. Belle St., Cannon Falls, MN 55009. Visitation will be from 4-7:00 pm, Sunday, August 27, 2017 at the Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Highway 19 Blvd., Cannon Falls, MN 55009. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Memorials are suggested to First English Lutheran Church, the VFW Memorial Park, the Cannon Food Shelf, or the donor's choice.
