Kenneth Peters

Ken "Petey" Peters Kenneth Clyde "Petey" Peters, age 60 of Cannon Falls, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Friday evening, October 21, 2011 after a 5 year battle with liver cancer. He was born on February 9, 1951 in Mitchell, South Dakota, the son of Kenneth L. and Ruby J. (Sargent) Peters. He graduated in 1969 from the Farmington, MN High School and went on to serve with the Army Reserves for six years. He married Barbara J. Dunwell on August 21, 1970 at the Assembly of God in Farmington. Petey was employed for 28 years at Foldcraft Company in Kenyon, and later with Cloverleaf Cold Storage in Lakeville for 8 years, when he retired due to health issues. He loved his family, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren! He enjoyed socializing and golfing, and really loved the weekend golf outings with other couples. He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Barb; two sons, K. Chad (Lisa) Peters of Baldwin, WI and Adam (Tina) Peters of Cannon Falls; 11 grandchildren, Nichole, Kyle, Brooke, Drew, Max, Brittany, Kayla, Ashlee, Tori, Jacob and Madison; great-granddaughter, Lariah; sister, Marlene (Rick) Curtis of Winner, SD; and nephew, B.J. (Teressa) Curtis of White, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, LaVonne at the age of 4 years. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 24 from 4-7 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Hwy 19 Blvd in Cannon Falls. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 25 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10-11 a.m., at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church, 7459 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls, with Pastor Gary Schulz and Pastor Carol Sinykin officiating. Interment will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery. The family invites everyone to join them in a celebration of Petey's life at the Cannon Falls VFW at 3:30 p.m. following the service Tuesday. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Memorials are preferred to the Cannon Falls Veterans Memorial, PO Box 325, Cannon Falls, MN 55009.
