Kathleen Ann Vavro, age 66, formerly of Cannon Falls, died on Friday evening, September 12, 2008 at the St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center in Wabasha, MN.
Kathleen was born on January 5, 1942 in Hopkins, the daughter of Edward and Vivian (Norby) Ward, Sr. She attended school in Hopkins and was a 1960 graduate of Hopkins High School. She then attended the University of Minnesota for two years.
She was a member of the Nelson Scofield VFW Auxiliary in Cannon Falls, organized the first teen car show in Cannon Falls and was a former member of St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially enjoyed taking her boys fishing. She was also a rifle sharpshooter.
She is lovingly survived by her sons, Ken (Angela) Larsen of Cannon Falls, and Dave Vavro of Red Wing; her grandchildren, Aidan and Sydney Larsen; brother, Edward (Cynthia Monahon) Ward, Jr. of Florence, MA; and nephew, Caley Monahon-Ward.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September. 16 at 4:00 p.m. at the Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls, MN.
