Kathleen Ann "Kathi" Fields, age 66 of Cannon Falls, died on Wednesday afternoon, February 23, 2011 at the Cannon Falls Medical Center. Kathi was born on February 19, 1945 in Minneapolis, the daughter of Ronald and Harriet (Olson) Tait. She graduated from Atwater High School, and then attended Willmar Community College. She married Douglas A. Fields on February 19, 1965 in Kandiyohi. Kathi worked at the Cannon Falls Beacon in Cannon Falls as a proof reader, retiring after 25 years. She was a member of St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls. She loved cooking, baking, sewing, quilting, camping and boating. She also enjoyed knitting, and had knit caps for many years for cancer patients. She was also a big fan of NASCAR! She will be remembered most for her love of people, her love of good fun, and her love for her family. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren in their sports and other activities. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Bernice Rubis. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Douglas; her children, Shawn (Leigh) of Northfield, Paula Lundell of Oklahoma, and Scott (Laura) of Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren, Ashleah Fields, Beau (Brittany) Lundell, Kailey Fields, Josie Fields and Tia Fields; five great-grandchildren, Brandon Walker, Arianna Lundell, Brooklyn Swanson, Olivia Lundell and Alexander Lowe; seven brothers and sisters, James (Dawn) Tait of Kandiyohi, Audrey (Dennis) Dailey of Avon, Jerome (Cathy) Tait of Maplewood, Margaret Garvick of St. Cloud, Luverne "Red" Tait of Apple Valley, Berdelle (Ron) Ingeman of Atwater, and Steven (Mona) Tait of Spicer; and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 28 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls, with Father Jay Kythe celebrating. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. There will also be visitation at church on Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
