December 21, 1956 — January 9, 2025

Cannon Falls

Judy Anderson, a life-long resident of the Cannon Falls area passed away on January 9, 2025, at the age of 68. Judy was born on December 21, 1956, in Farmington, MN, the youngest child of the family. After graduating from Cannon Falls High School, she went on to attend Dakota County Vocational School. She was incredibly proud of her accomplishment there. She married Reid Anderson on September 9, 1978, and they were married for 26 years.

While raising her two children, she worked at Kid Duds and then at Gemini in account services roles. She met many friends at both companies and enjoyed working with people she knew from the community. She loved trying out new recipes and bringing those treats to the offices to share with her coworkers. In her free time, she also enjoyed antiquing, crocheting, and refinishing furniture.

Following divorce, she moved from the country back into the city. There, she met her partner, Rick Scheill, and they enjoyed the company of family and friends, road trips, and adventures.

Judy managed through life with many medical challenges but always made the best of the situations. With retirement, she was able to live in a home overlooking the Cannon River. Judy was able to spend time in the yard gardening, relaxing on the deck, and working on various craft projects.

She is survived by her children Jessica Anderson and Joshua Anderson (Chelsy Carlson), grandsons Ryan Lewis and Tanner Carlson, partner, Rick Schiell and his family, sisters Pat Anderson and Katy Stallman (Paul), and several nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her parents Gus and Millie Anderson and siblings Ann Nadeau, Bob Anderson, and Penny Schiell.

The family is grateful for all of the medical and home health professionals, Three Rivers Community Action and their Meals on Wheels program, and volunteers, and Samantha Althoff, all who helped Judy especially over the last few years.

All are welcome to join us for a celebration of life at the Cannon Falls VFW on Saturday, February 15 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.
