John G. Pasch, 88 of Cannon Falls, passed away Thursday morning, March 11, 2010 at the Angels Care Center following a lengthy illness.
John G. Pasch was born March 17, 1921 in Douglas Township, Minnesota, the son of Peter and Katherine (Beissel) Pasch. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church School in New Trier and grew up on a farm southeast of town. He served overseas in the United States Air Force during WWII. John was united in marriage to Alice R. Kersting on June 11, 1946 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan. The couple farmed on the home place until retiring in 1983 and remained on the farm until moving to Cannon Falls in 1993.
John was a longtime member at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Trier and a member of the St. Nicholas Society, was a current member of St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls, a member of the Agricultural Soil Conservation Service, the Lyle Russell VFW Post #1210 in Hastings, served on the Hampton Township Board for many years as well as, the Planning Commission. He was a very hard worker, loved the land, enjoyed cards, traveling, especially to Texas and hunting and fishing.
John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alice of Cannon Falls, his children; Daniel (Rita) Pasch of Hastings, Judith (Charles) Gerlach of West Linn, Oregon, JoAnn (Roger) Bauer of Hastings, Bonita (Victor) Clasemann of Long Prairie, 15 grandchildren; Jeffrey (Evelyn) Pasch, Karla (Al) Sylvander, Jodi (Jim) Olson, Scott (Carman) Gerlach, Todd (Brandi) Gerlach, Paula (Paul) Rabaey, Joy (Joe) Eggert, Stacey Bloyd, Jennifer (Dave) Noles, Greg Halfen, Mike (Deepa) Halfen, Tammy (Sean) Hagan, Chad (Heidi) Clasemann, Charity (Shawn) Pesta, Aimee (Mike) Lieser & 29 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence, sister, Viola and his granddaughters spouse, Steve Bloyd.
