JoAnn Louise Loken (Mann) age 84, of Hader, died Monday, December 7, 2020 at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island, MN.

JoAnn was born on January 6, 1936 in Red Wing, MN, the daughter of Clarence and Irene (Collinge) Mann.  Her family moved to Minneapolis where she grew up.  She eventually moved with her family to Zumbrota where she attended and graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1955.  During and after high school, JoAnn worked as a waitress at her parent’s café.  On August 8, 1955, she married Russell Loken in Nashua, Iowa at the Little Brown Church.  JoAnn went to work cleaning rooms and later waitressed at Edgewood Motel & Restaurant along with working at various other places.  Eventually, she finished her career as a long-time waitress at Country Kitchen in Cannon Falls.  She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Aspelund where she served on many committees.  JoAnn loved looking after her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening, traveling, family reunions, playing softball, playing cards, bowling, and listening to KDHL radio.  JoAnn had a very special connection with her sister Diane and they often enjoyed time together at Treasure Island.  Most important to her was her husband Russell and her family.  She was always happy and excited to have family and friends come over for parties and other gatherings.  She was known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “Granny”, “Tone Loke” and “Josephine” which she answered to them all.

She is survived by her children, Debra (Dana) Kish and Steven Loken (partner Lee Best); sister Diane Bjorngaard; grandchildren Jeremy (wife Stephanie) Kish, Jody (husband Arnie Meyer), Jennifer Kish (husband Seth Finck), Ryan Loken and Blake Loken; great-grandchildren Bradley, Daniel, and Taylor Kish, Brooklynn Meyer, and Cora Finck; longtime neighbors and friends Darryl Logan and Rebecca Almquist; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  JoAnn was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband Russell; her parents Clarence and Irene; son Duane Loken; siblings and their spouses Darlene (Lloyd) Fodness, Carmen Mann, Kay (Luverne) Mehrkens, Arvid (Madolyn) Mann and Thomas Mann; brother-in-law Orville Bjorngaard; and good friend, Jack McKinley.
