Jerry “One Eye” Feidt, age 40 of Cannon Falls, died unexpectedly on Saturday morning, February 21, 2009 at the Cannon Falls Medical Center.
Jerry was born on May 24, 1968 in Cannon Falls, the son of Bernard Sr. and Karen (Burr) Feidt. He graduated from the Cannon Falls High School in 1986, and went on to attend Dakota County Vo-Tech for mechanical diagnostics. He had worked at Lindahl Tire, and later managed Brewsters’ Bar & Grill in Cannon Falls for a time. He was then employed for many years at Malt-O-Meal in Northfield. For the past couple of years, he co-owned “Woody’s Pump & Munch and Auto, Inc” in Randolph.
Jerry married Candice Vandenheuvel on February 25, 2000 in Red Wing. Their son, Sam was born on June 30, 1997, and Jerry became a proud and devoted father! Jerry and Candice later divorced.
Jerry loved spending time with his family and friends, and especially his son, Sam. They did everything they loved together, including sports, snowmobiling, hunting, and fishing. Jerry will be lovingly remembered for his smile, his sense of humor, and his true enjoyment of family, friends, and of life!
He is survived by his son, Sam and Sam’s mom, Candice Feidt of Cannon Falls; his very special love, Donna Forsman and her daughters, Alyssa Johnson, Teddi Jo, Sophia, Georgia, and Maggie Forsman, all of Cannon Falls; mother, Karen Feidt of Cannon Falls; nine sisters and brothers, Bernadette (John) Shellenbarger and Bonnie (Dennis) Forsell, all of Cannon Falls, Bernard Jr. “Ben” of Faribault, Cindy (Dave) Isaacson of LeSueur, David (Dennise) of Nerstrand, Randy (Suzanne) of Plainview, Jeff (Jason) of Brooklyn Park, Barb (Lee) Quernemoen of Faribault, and Kellie Feidt of Cannon Falls; and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends!
He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Sr.; nephew, Randy Feidt; and grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Feb 27 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius V Catholic Church, with Father Jay Kythe officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 8 p.m., at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. There will also be visitation at the church on Friday from 10-11 a.m.
