Janet Otte

Janet I. Otte, 68 of Cannon Falls, formerly of Randolph, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Trinity Care Center in Farmington following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, at the First English Lutheran Church, 511 W. Belle Street, Cannon Falls with the Reverend Phillip Ruud and Reverend Dan Forsgren officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Randolph. Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls and one hour prior at church on Wednesday.

Janet I. Otte was born July 23, 1941 in Zumbrota, Minnesota, the daughter of Clarence and Ruth (Chapman) Stageberg. She attended Zumbrota Schools and later moved to Cannon Falls, where she graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1959. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Otte on July 23, 1960 in Cannon Falls. The couple made there home in Randolph where she raised her family and was later employed as a medical claims examiner for Blue Cross & Blue Shield. She moved to Cannon Falls in 2006 and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially making time to be involved in her grandchildren’s lives both locally and in Texas. She enjoyed traveling, taking cruises to Alaska and Mexico, time in Texas and baking, crocheting and knitting.

Janet is survived by her three daughters; Cheryl (Clay) Hanks of College Station, Texas, Paula (Brad) Green of Zimmerman, Janine (Andrew) Kimmes of Hampton, her son, Ryan (Becky) Otte of Randolph, seven grandchildren; Clayton & Cole Hanks, Jake & Jaydee Green, Chloe, Carly & Cade Kimmes, her brothers; Niles Stageberg of Chanhassen, C. Douglas (Sharon) Stageberg of New Brighton, her sisters; Donna Kimmes of Cannon Falls & Randi (Tom) Folsom of Green Bay, Wisconsin and her special friend, Dale Goplen of Zumbrota.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, her sister-in-law, Marcy Stageberg and her brother-in-law, Leo Kimmes.
