It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of James Lillemoen on August 12, 2024. James was born in Elbow Lake MN on July 17, 1941 to parents Thelma and Laurel Lillemoen. He is survived by son Anthony (Karen) Lillemoen and their children Katherine (Nicholas), Kristen (Collin), Ryan (Tiffany), and Allyson (Khalil); daughter Lisa Lillemoen and her sons Dylan and Tanner; daughter Lori Martin and her son Jack; brother Doug Lillemoen (Ann); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
On June 30, 1961 James was united in marriage to Jean Hansel at 10 mile Lake Lutheran Church in Dalton, MN. They were married for 57 years, residing in Cannon Falls MN.
James was preceded in death by his wife Jean Lillemoen, brother Richard Lillemoen, and parents Thelma and Laurel Lillemoen.
James working career included the Minnesota National Guard, First National Bank, programmer for Fairway Foods, car salesman for Lee Chevrolet, welder, Cannon Drive Inn (owner), and Syngenta Seeds.
James was a member of Cannon Falls Golf Course, serving as both board member and president over the years. He loved the golf course and strived to make sure it was the best it could be for its members. He had a great love for Cannon Falls. He supported it through involvement in Jaycees as a member and president, as well as serving on the city council. James was also a passionate outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting deer, ducks, and pheasants. He won several awards for trap shooting in his younger years.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church, 7459 Highway 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN 55009. There will be a visitation from 10:00 am until the time of services.
