Irene Cecelia Carnel, age 78 of Cannon Falls, died suddenly on Monday, May 14, 2007. Irene was born on September 22, 1928 in Hastings.
She is survived by sons, Bob Carnel and Thomas (Mitzi) Carnel, both of Cannon Falls, and Paul (Janine) Carnel of Portland, OR; daughters, Karen (Gerald) Schwengels of Fond du Lac, WI, Linda (Tim) Dillon of Cannon Falls, and Kimberly Carnel Goodwin of St. Anthony, MN; seven grandchildren, Adam Carnel, Ashlan and Kristin Carnel, Brooke Dillon, Caitlin and Celia Goodwin, and Cole Carnel; brothers, Donald (Corrine) Lynch, Winston (Veronica) Lynch and David (Sue) Lynch; sisters, Joanne Johnson and Barbara Reynolds; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Carnel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 21 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls, with Father Jay Kythe and Deacon Pat Evans officiating.
Interment will follow at the St. Pius V Catholic Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the church.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to the Cannon Falls Public Library.
