Hazel Lynn

Hazel Esther Lynn, age 84, a longtime Vasa resident, died on Monday morning, September 6, 2010 at the Angels Care Center in Cannon Falls. Hazel was born on November 17, 1925 in Taylor County, WI, the daughter of John E. and Mary J. (VanHouten) Hazeman. She attended school in Gillman, WI, and later married Joseph P. Lynn on October 26, 1951 in Hastings. For a time, she had worked in laundry at Fort Snelling, and later worked with her husband in white-washing barns. Hazel enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, fishing, riding in boats. She also loved her roses! She is survived by her daughters, Pat (John) Williams of Vasa, and Carol Barnett of Red Wing; five grandchildren, Robert "Bobby Joe", Sabrina and Brandy Barnett, John Williams Jr. (Becky Mjelde) and James "J.R." (Elaine) Williams; several great grandchildren; brother, Arthur Hazeman Sr. of Red Wing; sisters, Irene Fosdal of Watertown, WI, and Mildred (Leo) Piasecki of Center City; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe on December 10, 1996; brothers, Robert and Eugene Hazeman; sisters, Lena Partlow, Dorothy Kurth, and an infant sister; and special nephew, Robert Hall. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 10 at 2:00 p.m., with a visitation from 12-2 p.m., at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls, with Pastor Michael Dobbins officiating. Interment will follow at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Cemetery in Cannon Falls. Active pallbearers will be John Williams, John Williams Jr., James "J.R." Williams, Bobby Joe Barnett, Art Hazeman Jr., and Shaun Hazeman. Honorary pallbearers will be Connor Williams and Austin Shonehardt.
