Harold Otto

Harold George "Harry" Otto, age 57 of Welch, MN died unexpectedly on Sunday evening, February 2, 2014 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems - Cannon Falls. Harry was born on June 9, 1956 in Hastings, MN, the son of Harold M. and Ida A. (Hempel) Otto. He graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1974 and married Karine Jenson on May 27, 1977 in Sogn, MN. They made their home in Cannon Falls, until moving to Welch in 1986. Harry worked in construction for many years, and was a member of Laborers Local #132. He more recently operated Otto Bobcat Service and did excavating in the area. He also helped Vasa Township with roadway maintenance. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was always willing to help anybody that needed it. He will be remembered as a very loving husband and father. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and sister, Michelle Otto. He is survived by his wife of over 36 years, Karine; son, Benji of Welch; and daughter, Bridget (Jeremy) Wildeman of Ellsworth, WI; 6 sisters and brothers, Pauline (Steve) Gappa of Sogn, David (Chris) of Welch, Millie (John) Gappa of Nerstrand, Donny (Jill) of Cannon Falls, Dan (Ann Marie) and Paul (Cheri), all of Welch; and many loving nieces, nephews and in-laws. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 7 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. Interment will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. There will also be visitation at the church on Friday from 10-11 a.m. Active pallbearers will be his son Benji Otto, son-in-law Jeremy Wildeman, family friend Jeff Burdick, brothers-in-law Kurt and Kevin Jenson, and nephews DJ, Jedd and Josh Otto. Honorary Pallbearers will be sisters and brothers, Pauline Gappa, David Otto, Millie Gappa, Donny, Danny and Paul Otto.
