Harlean Hanson

Harlean, age 85, passed away peacefully in the late afternoon on Sunday, January 14, 2024.  

Harlean was one of the first residents some 13 years ago at Cannon Falls Senior Living (formerly Twin Rivers). She was born in Red Wing, Minnesota, where she grew up and graduated from Wanamingo High School, in 1956, with 27 classmates. Shortly thereafter, she was engaged and married the love of her life, Ivan Hanson, from Minneapolis, MN, in 1957. Harlean resided in various places throughout Minnesota and Texas over the years.She blossomed when gardening and tending to flowers. She also loved country music and dancing. Anyone who knew her also knew she loved fashion, clothes, and jewelry.

Harlean is preceded in death by ex-husband, Ivan Gerald Hanson. Survived by sister, Marion (Jim) Smith of Lyle, MN; son, Wayde Hanson of Emily, MN; daughter, Dawn (Don) Skaggs of Tecumseh, OK; daughter, Cindy (Mark) Brown of Eagan, MN; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and many supportive friends, including Valerie Fuller and Lora Bremer. Harlean was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, MN.

Much appreciation and gratitude to all the Staff at Cannon Rivers Senior Living for their limitless care and friendship to Mom.  Special thank you to Pastor Phillip Rudd who visited Mom often with his continued support over the years.  Special thank you to Brighton Hospice Staff for their loving care for Mom in the last days.  We are all so humbly grateful.

 There will be a “Celebration of Life” Open House at Cannon Rivers Senior Living in the Community Room on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm.
