Guillermo Roman Soler, age 86 of Cannon Falls and formerly of Lake Worth, FL, died on Friday morning, January 2, 2015 at The Reflections in Northfield. Guillermo was born on August 9, 1928 in Trinidad, Cuba, the son of Guillermo and Concepcion (Becquer) Soler. He married Marta Blanca Diaz on December 26, 1948 in Trinidad, Cuba. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather who gave all to his family and friends…he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marta; daughters, Marta (Joe) Garbarino of Cannon Falls and Blanca Soler of Portland, OR; eight grandchildren, Jessica Garbarino of Lake Worth, FL, Katherine (Ed) Behnke of Cannon Falls, Rebecca (Mark) Scheophoerster of Dundas, Julia Garbarino of Blaine, Leo Garbarino, Alexander Garbarino, and Rachel Garbarino, all of Cannon Falls, and Havana Soler of Portland, OR; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Felix and Manuel Soler. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 4 from 2-5 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. A traditional Latin Requiem Mass will be held on Monday, January 5 at 10:00 a.m., with visitation from 9-10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Miesville, with Fr. Robert Altier celebrating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Joe, Leo and Alexander Garbarino, Mark Schoephoerster, and Edward Behnke.
