Gordon Paddock Gordon Harold Paddock, age 91 of Minneapolis and formerly of Cannon Falls, died on Tuesday evening, May 10, 2011 at the Mount Olivet Careview Home in Minneapolis. Gordon was born on January 1, 1920 in Mound City, Kansas, the son of Tedford D. and Elsie (Lewis) Paddock. He graduated from Mound City High School in 1938, and went on to serve with the US Army during World War II from 1941 until his honorable discharge in 1945. Gordon married Lorene A. Anderson on April 12, 1948 in Foxhome, MN. They came to the Cannon Falls area, and purchased their farm in Warsaw Township in 1960. Gordon farmed and later worked for 12 years for the National FarmerA�A�A½s Organization as a dues collector until retiring. They were active members of the Wangen Prairie Lutheran Church. Gordon was also a member of the VFW Nelson Scofield Post #4452 in Cannon Falls. Gordon loved farming and socializing with his family and church friends. He also loved music, including singing, playing guitar and harmonica. His wife of 44 years, Lorene died on March 26, 1993. Gordon has been residing at Mount Olivet Homes since September 30, 2002. He is survived by his two daughters, Nancy (Robert) Brenny of Edina and Wendy Johnson of Sanford, NC; four grandchildren, Brian Miller of Cannon Falls, Karen Brenny of Hollywood, FL, Lora (Keith) Jackson of Sanford, NC, and Richie Miller of Sanford, NC; sister, Loie King of Spring Park, MN; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tedford and Elsie Paddock; his wife, Lorene; brothers, Frank, Harry, Lee and Earl Paddock; and sister, Ada Elzea. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 15 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wangen Prairie Lutheran Church near Cannon Falls, with Pastor Curtis Fox officiating. A visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. at the church on Sunday. Interment with military honors will follow at the church cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Wangen Prairie Lutheran Church or the Mount Olivet Careview Home. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Elzea, Allen Elzea, Robert Brenny, Dale Johnson, Brian Miller and Donald Paddock.
