Glorian Anderson

January 6, 1926 — November 11, 2013

Glorian C. Anderson, age 87, a lifelong resident of the Spring Garden community, died November 11, 2013, surrounded by her family at the Seminary Home in Red Wing, Minnesota. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, November 23, 2013 at Spring Garden Lutheran Church, 10239 County 1 Blvd, Cannon Falls. Visitation will also be held at the church on November 22, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 pm and also for one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Lundberg Funeral Home, Cannon Falls. Memorials are preferred to Spring Garden Lutheran Church or the Twin Rivers Memory Care Unit. Glorian Christine (Bodelson) Anderson was born January 6, 1926 in Belle Creek Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota to Anton and Alice (Anderson) Bodelson. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school nearby. She was baptized and confirmed at Spring Garden Lutheran Church. Glorian was salutatorian of the Cannon Falls class of 1943. She went on to receive her teaching instruction at Normal School and taught at Rural School District 38. She was united in marriage to Eldon Anderson on June 12, 1946 at Spring Garden Lutheran Church. They enjoyed many years on the family farm where they raised six sons and worked hard together. Glorian's faith was a focal part of her life and was able to live that out in her commitment to her church. She was a lifelong member of Spring Garden Lutheran where she served as Sunday School Teacher for many years and was also active in the Ladies Aid. Glorian loved to volunteer at numerous organizations and was recognized with the Hometown Spirit Award in Cannon Falls. She decided to return to teaching in the 1980's and enjoyed her work with children in the Special Education Department. She was devoted to her family and loved to spend time supporting her children and getting involved in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her home was always open to visitors who were all welcome at her table. She had a humble approach to life and was a dedicated servant of the Lord. She is survived by her six sons, Pastor Rodney (Julane) of Eden Prairie, Forrest (Linda) of Cottage Grove, Royce (Karen) of Hastings, Donovan (Susan) Clermont, FL, Brad (Kathy) and Tim (Heidi) both of Cannon Falls; grandchildren, Nathan (Lori), Ben, Chelsea, Heather, Corey (Stacey), Chad (Laura), Melissa (TJ), Brandon (Tessa), Landon, Heidi, Mindy (Pierre), Keith, Ariana (Jason), Travis, Levi , Ethan and Gideon; great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Justin, Tyrin, Kate, Charlie, Maggie, Bobby, Joey, Emma, Tommy, Lauren, Zach, Sam, Mikah, Laken, Taylor, Pierre, Chastity, Cameron, Gavin, Greta, Marin, Anyka and Mia; sisters-in-law, Glennis (Harlan) Swanson of Hastings and Sandra (John) Schade of Hager City, WI as well as several nieces, nephews and relatives. She is preceded in death by her husband Eldon; parents; brothers, Weldon and Burnell and granddaughter Magdalini Anderson.
