Glen Schindeldecker, age 85, of Winona and formerly of Cannon Falls, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2020 in Red Wing at his daughter's home. While there, he was surrounded and visited by loved ones in his final days.
Glen Roger Schindeldecker was born on May 23, 1935 in Inver Grove Heights, the son of Harry and Hazel (Leubecker) Schindeldecker. He grew up in Inver Grove Heights and graduated from South St. Paul High School. Following school, Glen served his country honorably in the Air National Guard from 1953-1959.
He met his sweetheart, Darlene Clemens, at the American House in St. Paul where they immediately fell in love. They were joined in marriage on Oct. 30, 1954. They lived in Inver Grove Heights for 14 years, moving to Cannon Falls in 1968, where they raised their 3 daughters and son on a hobby farm raising produce and livestock.
Glen worked at Cenex for 31 years ending his career as a Operations Supervisor in the Shipping & Receiving dept. After retiring, he drove school bus for the Cannon Falls School District where he loved getting to know the many students who rode his bus to school and extracurricular activities.
Glen and Darlene loved spending time with their children, grandchildren and many friends. They loved traveling, card club, spending time at their lakeside camper, and fishing. His quick wit and outgoing personality allowed him to make friends easily.
Following the death of Darlene in 2003, Glen married Doris Fegre on April 14, 2007.
Glen is survived by his children: Dawn (fiance, Roger Spencer) Lobejko, Gwen (Steve) Kohner, Tammy (Tom) Wadley, and Scott (Tiffany) Schindeldecker; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother Willard; sisters-in law Sandra (Donald) Wessels and Isabel Zorak; brother-in-law Myron (Krystyna) Bailey; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives Darlene and Doris, and sister-in-law Mildred Schindeldecker.
