George Ellison

June 6, 1926 — October 5, 2007

George P. Ellison, age 81 of Cannon Falls, died peacefully at his home on Friday afternoon, October 5, 2007.



George was born on June 6, 1926 in Madison, WI, the son of Donald H. and Verna L. (Baxter) Ellison. He graduated from Washburn High School in Minneapolis in 1944, and went on to the University of Minnesota where he received his Electrical Engineering Degree in 1948. George was a Registered Professional Engineer and for 40 years was a partner at Erickson, Ellison and Associates.



He married LeeAnne Kronmiller on July 7, 1962 in St. Albans, West Virginia, and was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Cannon Falls. He was a member of the Masonic Oriental Lodge #34 in Cannon Falls, and had been a member for many years of the Cannon Falls Rotary Club. He served in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army.



George was a devoted family man, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.



He is survived by his wife of 45 years, LeeAnne; his six children, Steve Kronmiller of St. Paul, Susan Kronmiller (Babe O'Gorman) of Cannon Falls, Jim (Gail) Kronmiller of Chanhassen, David (Alison) Kronmiller of St. Paul, Chris (Claudia) Ellison of Leiden, The Netherlands, and Dan (Kim) Ellison of Cannon Falls; 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and sister, Barbara (Tom) Parry of Minneapolis.



He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Verna Ellison; and two grandchildren, Logan and Jessica.



A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 11 at 5:00 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 123 N. 3rd St., Cannon Falls, with Rev. Roger Claxton officiating.

Visitation will be held at the Guild Hall (next to the church) from 3-5 p.m., with a Masonic service at 4:30 p.m., on Thursday.



Immediately following the service, family and friends are invited to gather at the Mill Street Tavern, Cannon Falls.



Family asks that memorials be directed to the Logan D. Ellison Scholarship Fund or the Church of the Redeemer.
