Gene A. Brummund

Gene Allen Brummund, of Welch, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, after a two-year-long battle with Cancer.

Gene was born Jan. 4, 1956, as the youngest of 9 siblings, to Reinhardt and Linda (Moll) Brummund. He grew up near Cannon Falls, and graduated from Cannon Falls High School. He then attended Red Wing Vo-tech where he received certificates in Auto Mechanics. Gene spent his time, after travelling cross-country on his motorcycle, with his close friends, camping and photographing the sights, and his friends. He married the love of his life, Heather (Nelson) Brummund on Sept 12, 1992, and settled down from his traveler lifestyle to have two children.

Gene worked in plastics manufacturing until he retired in 2016. He enjoyed working on and driving his motorcycles, photography, and golf in his spare time, and was active on the church council at Cannon River Lutheran Church.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Lorraine, Edith (Dee), and Amy, and his wife, Heather. He is survived by his children Alex and Hannah, granddaughter Ophelia, sisters Susan, Lydia, and Joyce, brothers Carl and Richard, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, Nov. 13, at 2 pm, at Cannon River Lutheran Church, 10960 280^th St, Cannon Falls, MN 55009. There will be a visitation from 2-4 pm, Sunday, Nov 12,at Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN 55009. The visitation will continue an hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Gene’s service will be live streamed and may be viewed on his obituary page at www.LundbergFuneral.com, where online condolences are  also welcome.
