Gayle Alene Prinzing was born on September 23, 1933 in Willmar, the daughter of Hugh and Cordelia (Le Claire) Dean. She grew up in Brainerd, graduating from Washington High School. She then attended Hamline University School of Nursing, and spent her early years working as a Registered Nurse in various locations. She was married to Everette Earl Elrod in 1955. He preceded Gayle in death in 1968. In March of 1970, she married Norman George Prinzing and relocated to Cannon Falls. Gayle worked in nursing for the Cannon Falls Hospital and, in her retirement, was a hospice nurse.
Gayle was a very active member of Our Savior’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was involved with the Cannon Falls Senior Center (formerly the Shepherd’s Center) and was active in their various programs such as Book Buddies. She enjoyed quilting, scrapbooking, photography, music, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. She loved playing games and was particularly fond of her weekly Bridge and Scrabble get togethers. She was an avid fan of the Twins and Timberwolves and would rarely miss watching the games.
Survivors include her children Janet (Jeff) Lindahl, Deb Prinzing, Diane (Michael Jr.) Maley, Duane (Jo) Prinzing, Keith (Trine) Prinzing, and Brenda Julien; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings Claire (Karen) Dean, Richard (Carla) Dean, and Natasha Romanov; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Everette and Norman, her daughter Beverly, and her brother Wesley Dean.
