Frederick Wojahn

Frederick Verril "Fred" Wojahn, age 58 of Cannon Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Friday afternoon, April 10, 2015. Fred was born on June 16, 1956 in Emmetsburg, Iowa, the son of Willard and Beverly (Bebo) Wojahn. He was baptized on July 1, 1956 and confirmed on May 31, 1970. He graduated from Cannon Falls High School and went on to vocational school. He married Debra Swanson on December 19, 1981 at First Congregational Church of Cannon Falls. He worked at Cannon Super Valu for approximately 20 years and was currently employed for 18 years by the Bergquist Company in Prescott, WI. Fred was devoted to his faith and family. He loved camping, fishing, woodworking, playing dice and cards. Fred was selfless, always ready with a joke or helping hand. Recently, his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Debra; children, Frederick "Rick" (Scott) Wimsett of London, UK, Zachary (Elizabeth) of Dundas, and Hannah Wojahn (David Rogers) of St. Louis, MO; two grandchildren, Tyler (2) and Kyliee (1); sisters, Julia (Dan) Haeuszer of Glendale, AZ, Charmae (Neil) Greene of New Richmond, WI; dear friend and neighbor, Darlene Wendelschafer and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; niece, Bridgette Greene; and brother-in-law, David Groenke. Fred is loved by many and his laughter and kind spirit will be greatly missed by those who knew him. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15 from 5-7 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. A funeral service will be on Thursday at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10-11 a.m., at First English Lutheran Church, Cannon Falls. Interment at Wangen Prairie Lutheran Cemetery will follow a luncheon at church. Active pallbearers will be Frederick and Scott Wimsett, Zachary and Elizabeth Wojahn, and Hannah Wojahn and David Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Tyler and Kyliee Wojahn.
