Florence Rose Sutter, age 99 of Red Wing and formerly of Goodhue, died on Thursday morning, February 16, 2017 at the Seminary Home in Red Wing. Florence was born on October 11, 1917 in Goodrich, WI, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Berghammer) Schreiner. She grew up and graduated from high school as her class Valedictorian in 1934. In 1936, Florence was united in marriage to Clarence Sutter. They owned Sutter's Food and Variety store for 10 years. Florence worked for Midtex Inc. in Mankato as a production worker for 25 years. She will be remembered for her kindness and patience. Florence enjoyed helping others whenever she could. Her legacy for enjoying life and appreciating family will live on through her children. Survivors include her sons, Dennis (Karen) of Mesa, AZ and Bill (Kris) of Goodhue; daughter-in-law, Lois, of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Paul of Detroit, MI, Danny of Memphis, TN, Brad (Jen) of Chicago, IL, Christine Meenan of Mesa, AZ, Brian (Julie) of Stillwater, Kate Sutter (Darrell Eng) of Palo Alto, CA, and Brett (Nicole) of Watertown, MN; 12 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Florence was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence; son, Jerome; sisters, Annie Fandre, Sr. Marian Schreiner, and Irene Klimpke; and brothers, Frank, Wilfred, and Donny. Private family graveside service will be at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. The family prefers no memorials.
