Eugene Barth

Eugene "Gene" Paul Barth, age 77 of Cannon Falls, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 12, 2015. Gene was born on December 1, 1937 in Alexandria, Indiana, the son of Paul and Mary (Tinker) Barth. He graduated from high school and then married Eloise Rice on October 27, 1956 in Alexandria, IN. He worked for many years at Continental Can Company and retired as Plant Superintendent. Favorite past times; wood working, photography, jig saw puzzles, spending time with his grand kids and great-grand kids. He is survived by his wife, Eloise; sons, Danny (Laurie) Barth of Lakeville, Joseph (Kathleen) Barth of Anchorage, AK; daughter, Cassandra (David) Williamson of Hagar City, WI; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sister, Emma Massie of Vincennes, IN; brother-in-law, Robert Harris of Leesburg, FL; sisters-in-law, Sue Barth of Alexandria, IN and Sandra (Jack) Summers of Chesterfield, IN; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William, Ronald, and Robert; sister, Barbara Harris and great-granddaughter, Katie Marie Luebbert. Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 16 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10-11 a.m., at Riverwood Community Church, Cannon Falls. Interment will be at East Christiania Cemetery, Eureka Township. Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Barth, Michael Barth, Matthew Barth, Christopher Barth, Joseph Williamson, Shawn Barth, Benjamin Luebbert, Thayne Robinson and Clayton Andresen. Honorary pallbearer will be Doug Stebbins. Memorials are preferred to St. Croix Hospice or donor's choice.
