Ethan Eli Heidlebaugh, age 43 years, born June 15, 1977, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020.
Ethan was a one of a kind individual. He was always connecting with friends. He enjoyed playing his guitar and recording music with friends. Ethan was a self-taught artist who started with pen and ink drawings at a very young age, then went on to acrylics and oil painting. He also did some sculpture, costumes and puppets. Much of his artwork was surreal and interdimensional. It was often very intricate (bird feathers, ocean waves, blades of grass, peddles on a flower, scales on a fish, leaves on a tree); drawing the observer in to find surprising details. Ethan was commissioned to do several murals on buildings in Minneapolis, and designed t-shirts, stickers and buttons of his work. He displayed his work in coffeehouses, galleries and had a booth at several art festivals, including Powderhorn Park and Northfield Jesse James Days. He had many brushes with death in his lifetime and many medical struggles. He was loving and generous to many and will be greatly missed.
His immediate family is his mother, Susan Kronmiller and step father, Babe O’Gorman; his father, Darol Heidlebaugh and step mother, KateAn Hunter; sister, Hanna Peterson; step brother, Ahren O’Gorman; step sister, Megan Polynin; and many cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts, and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, LeeAnne and George Ellison, and Lawrence and Dorothy Heidlebaugh.
Celebration of Life will be held outdoors with a bonfire in the Summer of 2021.
Please, no flowers requested. Memorials in Ethan’s name can be made to the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance, 2277 MN-36, Roseville, MN 55113.
