Erik Erikstrup passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020 at The Reflections in Northfield at the age of 73 years, after a long struggle with lung disease.
His early years were involved in family, Boy Scouts, part time work and 2 years as a Bat Boy for the Minnesota Twins in the 1962-63 seasons. He graduated from Rosemount High School and the University of Minnesota.
His professional life consisted of various facets of real estate sales, mortgage banking and real estate trust/pension asset management over the past 40+ years. He retired in 2012 and moved to Garrison, MN with his wife Pat. In the subsequent years, he volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, Garrison food shelf, Minnesota Land Trust, and Go Fishing in Brainerd. He enjoyed woodworking, cars, being outdoors (hunting, fishing, golf), travel, and wintering in South Carolina.
He is survived by family: wife, Pat; step mother, Shirley; sons, Darin (Jon) Anderson of Ogilvie and Brett (William) Dawson of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, April (Angela) Brooks of Prior Lake; grandchildren Ben, Kacie, Blake, Nick, Zach, and Allie; four brothers, Donald (Scottie) Erikstrup of Portland, OR, Daniel (Mary) Erikstrup of Hendersonville, NC, David (Shelly) Erikstrup of Longwood, FL, and Kirk (Tammy) Erikstrup of DeBary, FL; aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial services will be Friday, July 16, at 3 pm at Easter Lutheran Church, Easter by the Lake, 4545 Pilot Knob Rd, Eagan, MN 55122 . Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Memorials should be sent to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
