Ellen Agnes (nee Ryan) Gall, age 81 of Cannon Falls, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 26, 2015. Ellen was born on February 26, 1934 in Cannon Falls, the daughter of Francis W. and Catherine R. (Glynn) Ryan. She graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1952. She married Francis A. Gall on April 25, 1953. As a young lady, Ellen worked as a waitress at the Sweet Shop Café, Windy Acres, and Cannon Ball, all in Cannon Falls. She always enjoyed working with children and enjoyed working as an aid, play ground helper, and special education assistant. She also had done day care for numerous families. They lived in various places including Cannon Falls and Nevis, MN. They also wintered in Mission, Texas until 2006. While in Nevis, she was active at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church. She was an active member of St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls, a life member of VFW Auxiliary Post #4452, United Way, and blood mobile. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply. She will be greatly missed! She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Daniels; and brother, Edward Ryan. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Fran; her children, Russell of Georgia, Sheila (Paul) Ekstrom of Randolph, and Timothy of Wanamingo; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Rose Maring of Kenyon, Dedee (Ed) Erickson of Rosemount, Margaret Ryan of Apple Valley, Patrick Ryan of Inver Grove Heights, and James Ryan of Cannon Falls; brother-in-law, Dick Daniels of Cannon Falls; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, Mar 30 from 5-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, Mar 31 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation at church from 1-2 p.m., at St. Pius V Catholic Church in Cannon Falls. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Matt Maring, Mike Daniels, Dominic Ryan, Colin Erickson, Isaac and Paul Ekstrom. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorials are preferred to St. Croix Hospice.
