Eleanor Medora Hultman, age 103, of Cannon Falls, passed away peacefully at St. Crispin’s in Red Wing on October 17, 2017, surrounded by her family.
She was born on Sept. 28, 1914 in Cannon Falls Township to Frank and Mary (Ring) Benson. She lived all of her life in Cannon Falls. She married Russell H. Hultman on Sept. 20, 1941 at St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. She was a homemaker and helped on the farm. Eleanor was a lifelong member of Spring Garden Lutheran Church. She was a very active member within the church by participating in the choir, playing the piano, as a Sunday school teacher, and active with the Ladies Aide. Her favorite hobbies were sewing and crafts. She made many quilts and children’s clothing for church and for mission projects.
Survivors include her son Gary and wife Trudy of Red Wing, daughter Diane and husband David Larsen of Denver, CO; three grandchildren – Tracy, Tyler, and Nichole Hultman; three great-grandsons Aydyn, Camdyn, and Landyn; nieces Darlene Thorud and Carol Gorman; nephews Harlan, Ellis, and Roger Swanson, and David and Bobby Benson.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two infant sons, great-grandson Braydyn, sister Myrtle Swanson, brothers Wesley, Abner, and Lloyd Benson, and a nephew Wallace Swanson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the Spring Garden Lutheran Church, 10239 County 1 Blvd., Cannon falls, MN 55009. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Spring Garden Lutheran Church.
