Eleanor May Beadle, age 87 of Cannon Falls, died peacefully on Friday evening with family at her bedside on February 18, 2011 at the Angels Care Center, where she has been a resident since January 3, 2011. Eleanor was born on May 12, 1923 in Minneapolis, the daughter of Burton R. and Alma (Clark) Disher. She graduated from Ellendale High School in 1940, and married George M. Beadle on April 4, 1941. They lived in Albert Lea and Twin Lakes, MN for several years, and later moved to Minneapolis. Before retiring, Eleanor was a career realtor for Edina Realty in Minneapolis. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Robbinsdale. She moved to Cannon Falls in 1989. Eleanor was full of fun and a big fan of the Vikings and the Minnesota Twins. She liked to travel, especially to Las Vegas and Arizona. She was good at games and cards, enjoyed dining out, and loved holidays and family events. She was preceded in death by her husband, George on September 27, 1981 in Minneapolis; her parents; sisters, Della Guilliam and infant, Ila; brothers, Earl Disher, Curtis (Margaret) Disher, and Burton (Dorothy) Disher; and special friend, Lowell Dunker. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Harris and longtime partner, Bill Newlin of Bloomington; son, Bruce Beadle and wife, Nancy of Phoenix, AZ; and extended family, Judith and Don Hasti of Pine Island; four grandchildren, Julia (John) Briese, Paula Beadle (Brian Kemkes), Sarah Beadle (partner, J.R. Valenzuela ), and Christopher Harris; nine great grandchildren, Katie (Tony) Sikkink, Joe Gaytan, Lindsey, Ben and Emily Kemkes, Nick, Tom, Joe and Angie Briese; great-great-grandson, Elliott Sikkink; and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 26 at 2:00 p.m., with a visitation from 1-2 p.m., at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls, with Pastor Phillip Ruud officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Interment of her cremated remains will take place at a later date at Crystal Lake Cemetery in Minneapolis.
