Elaine Amy (nee Bloomberg) Robinson, age 94 of Cannon Falls, died on Sunday afternoon, May 25, 2008 at the Angels Care Center in Cannon Falls.
Elaine was born on March 25, 1914 in Cannon Falls, the daughter of Emil and Hulda (Anderson) Bloomberg. She graduated from the Cannon Falls High School in 1932, and later married Glen C. Robinson on March 18, 1933 in St. Paul. She stayed at home to raise their three children. Her greatest joy was her family, and she truly enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.
She was an active member of the First Congregational Church U.C.C. in Cannon Falls. She was also very active in the Cannon Falls community, where she volunteered for many activities, including the Blood Mobile. She was also active with the C.C.I.C.
Elaine was very proud of her Swedish heritage! She had traveled to Sweden twice, and enjoyed her many Swedish keepsakes. She also enjoyed collecting angels!
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen on December 18, 1999; brother, John Bloomberg; and sisters, Myrtle Anderson, Mabel Duncan, Dorothy Luedke, and Edith Johnson.
She is survived by her children, Jerry (Lois) Robinson of Holland, MI, Gail (Dick) Wahlgren of Glendale, AZ, and Faye (Joe) Millsap of Little Rock, AR; 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; special cousin, Marilyn Seglem of St. Paul; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 29 at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church U.C.C., with Pastor JoBeth Marshall officiating.
Interment will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. There will also visitation at the church on Thursday from 10-11 a.m.
Memorials are preferred to the chapel fund at the Angels Care Center in Cannon Falls.
Active pallbearers will be Gregg Robinson, Michael and Benjamin Schrotenboer, Russell Brown, Robert Swanson and Chuck Drometer.
