Dorothy Young

Dorothy Dorinne Young, a lovely, loving lady, age 90 of Newport, Minnesota, graduated to Heaven peacefully at home on Friday evening, November 8, 2024.

Dorothy was born on May 23, 1934 in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, the daughter of Oscar and Vera (Cranston) Lundgren. Dorothy graduated from Washington High School in St. Paul.

She worked at Waldorf Recycling Paper Company for many years.

She was an active member of Woodbury Lutheran Church where she was involved with many church activities and seven mission trips.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Matthew) Graebner and Candy Davis; step children, Carolyn (Dan) Schueller, Sherilyn Young, Ellyn (Bob) Erickson, and Raymond Young, III; grandchildren, David (Erin) Schueller, Aaron Schueller, Tania (Jack) Delehanty, Lyn Erickson, Natalie Erickson, Shawn Erickson, John (Marie) Duffert, Andrew Graebner, and Sheri Davis; great-grandson, Steven Mason; step great-grandchildren, Simone Schueller, Miles Schueller, Sylvie Delehanty, and Louis Delehanty; sisters, Gloria (Mike) Nielsen and Elizabeth "Betty" Stavrou; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, John William Duffert on June 6, 1988; second husband, Raymond Young on January 3, 2016; son-in-law, Robert Erickson; and siblings, Douglas Lundgren, Donna Lundgren, Cherilon McKenzie, and Bonnie Joy Lundgren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 16 at 2:30 pm, with visitation from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm, at Woodbury Lutheran Church, 7380 Afton Rd, Woodbury. Interment will follow directly at Lakeside Cemetery, Randolph.

Memorials are preferred to Woodbury Lutheran Church Mission to Ashville, North Carolina.

Active casket bearers will be Andrew Graebner, Matthew Graebner, John Duffert, Raymond Young III, Steven Mason, and Troy Foster.
