Dorothy Hoffman

Dorothy Meta (Ringeisen) Hoffman, age 93 of Maplewood, died on Wednesday afternoon, October 5, 2016 at The Lodge on Summit Oaks, Burnsville. Dorothy was born on December 2, 1922 in Trimont, MN, the daughter of August and Laura (Hoverman) Ringeisen. Dorothy married Clifford M. Hoffman on August 14, 1969 in Watertown, SD. She loved dancing and was a life member of the Minnesota West Coast Swing Dance Club, where she was also an instructor. Because of that involvement, she was able to travel around the U.S., which she greatly enjoyed. She loved spending time with her sisters and their families, and she and Cliff enjoyed spending Hoffman family time in Maiden Rock, WI. Dorothy had worked at Honeywell for many years, retiring in 1986. She loved to play cards, socialize with friends, and kept active with her daily exercises. She was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cliff on April 11, 1974; brother, Lyle Ringeisen; and sisters, Viola Cordes, Mildred Fifield, and Hazel Fredrickson. She is survived by her nine nieces and nephews, and step-daughter, Shirleen Hoffman of Eagan. Funeral will be held on Saturday, October 8 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10-11 a.m., at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. Following a lunch, interment will be held at Stanton Cemetery. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to The Lodge on Summit Oaks, 1412 Summit Oak Dr., Burnsville MN 55337. Active pallbearers will be Bob Fredrickson, Mike Fredrickson, Christopher Nelson, and David Ringeisen.
