Diane Rose Costello, 71 formerly of Cannon Falls, passed away on Saturday morning, June 20, 2009 at the Red Wing Health Care Center.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the Lundberg Funeral Home, Cannon Falls, with the Reverend Dan Forsgren, officiating. Diane Rose Costello was born October 26, 1937 in Lake City, Minnesota. She is the daughter of Reinhart and Helen (Betcher) Miller. She was raised on a farm and educated in a one room school. She worked for a time in Rochester and later was united in marriage to Richard Costello on October 5, 1957. The couple made their home in various locations with Richard’s military career. They moved to the Red Wing area in 1969. Diane had then worked at the LSS Vasa Children’s Home. Diane and Richard then owned and operated the Plum City Café for a few years and later Diane had been employed at Princess Toys, Kid Duds and the Cannonball. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, fishing,time at the cabin and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters; Wendy (Eugene) Dopp of Olathe, Kansas, Yvette (Scott) Murphy of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Kim (Joe) Kruse of Red Wing, and Patty (Mike) Halgrimson of Cannon Falls, four grandchildren; Kristen Anderson, Paige Duckett, Taryn & Devyn Murphy, her brothers and sisters; Melva Wiebusch, Delaine Klein and Mary Ann Hinck all of Lake City, Leland Miller of Hager City, Arvid Miller of Red Wing and Nancy Johnson of Burnsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard and brothers and sisters; Willard, Winifred, Haven, Melvin and Judith Miller.
