David John Stephens, age 46 of White Rock, died at his home following a brief battle with cancer, on Sunday evening, May 2, 2010.
Dave was born on November 18, 1963 in Minneapolis, the son of Eugene and Rita (Jarnot) Stephens. He attended school in Cannon Falls, and married Deloris Gruber on August 17, 1982 in Red Wing. They had a son, Joshua. They later divorced.
Dave married Kandee Gerbracht on April 11, 1998 in Cannon Falls. They had two children together, Michael and Mikalee.
Dave was a welder by trade and had worked at Cannon Equipment for 16 years. He worked a short time with Commando Trailers, and was currently self-employed with his own business, Dave Stephens Welding.
He enjoyed helping with his children’s activities, including Boy Scouts, and being a soccer and baseball coach. He loved his family, his children and grandchildren, and hunting!
He is survived by his wife, Kandee; children, Josh (Jenny Jenson) Stephens of Cannon Falls, Michael Eugene Stephens and Mikalee Ann Stephens, both at home; grandchildren, Keira and Mason Stephens; brothers and sisters, Doug Stephens (Nancy Binner) of Frontenac, Darryl Stephens of Medford, Sheila Priem (Brian Rothwell) of Hayfield, Michelle Stephens and Sandra Stephens, both of Medford; and many nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Rita Stephens.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 5 from 4-8 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 6 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10-11 a.m., at Spring Garden Lutheran Church, with Pastors Nick and Cindy Fisher-Broin officiating. Interment of his cremated remains will follow at the church cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Josh and Jenny Stephens, Mike Stephens, Kalee Stephens, Keira and Mason Stephens.
