Darlene Beach

Darlene Ruth (Kujath) Beach, formerly of Cannon Falls and a resident of Chanhassen, MN for the past 7 years, passed away at the age of 87, on August 31, 2024. Darlene was born in Dodge Center, MN on March 27, 1937 to Paul and Alvina (Voll) Kujath. Darlene was united in marriage to Rex Beach on December 31, 1953. Over their 62 years together they made their home in Hayfield, Randolph and Cannon Falls, MN; retiring to Las Vegas, NV in 1989. After Rex passed away Darlene returned to Minnesota and had lived with her eldest daughter Rhonda in Chanhassen, MN.

Darlene enjoyed sharing stories of her happy childhood on a farm near Hayfield, MN, spending time with her family and friends, found joy in wearing stylish clothing and her hobby of home décor, specifically creating window treatments. She loved watching hummingbirds at her feeder and the many flowers on her patio. And she always enjoyed a good laugh.

She mastered the profession of clothing alterations and was the owner of alteration businesses in Minnesota and Nevada. She took great pride in being the wife of a railroad man, growing up in a small town and in her strong Christian faith.

Darlene is survived by her four children, Dr. Rhonda Downie, of Chanhassen, Susan (Richard) Brantseg of New Brighton, Jennifer (David) Raasch of Burnsville, and Robert (Pamela) Beach of Cannon Falls; six grandchildren, Justin Downie, Alexander (Kirstin) Downie, Robert Brantseg, Dr. Thomas (Amanda) Brantseg, Madalyn (Ethan) Tutewohl and Garrett (Leah) Beach; four great grandchildren, Ava and Owen Tutewohl, Clare Downie and Bailey Beach; brothers, David (Maureen) Kujath and Richard Kujath and brother-in-law Duaine Bacon.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rex, her parents, and infant grandson, Dylan; sisters Bernita Bacon and Carolyn Meyer; sisters-in-law Judy Kujath and Helen Waugh; and brothers-in-law Donald Meyer and Archie Waugh.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 6 at 3:00 pm, with visitation from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls.

A private inurnment of her ashes, along with those of her husband Rex, will be in Waterville, MN at a later date.
