Dale M. Lilleskov, a lifelong resident of High Prairie, died April 11, 2019 at age 89. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 17 at Wangen Prairie Lutheran Church with Pastor Shannon Bauer officiating; visitation time is one hour prior to the service.
Dale Myron Lilleskov was born at the family farm home in Stanton township to Martin and Ellen (Heen) Lilleskov on February 19, 1930. He attended District 166 country school and Cannon Falls High School, graduating in 1948.
Prior to his military service in 1951-1953, Dale worked as a DHIA milk tester. He was a Corporal in the 25th Infantry Division with duty in Korea.
His Christian faith and his lifelong active involvement in Wangen Prairie Church were very important to him. As an arm chair referee/coach, he enjoyed watching Bombers, Gophers, Twins and Vikings.
Dale is survived by his brother Don (Nadine) of Cedar Falls, IA; sisters Delores (Gordon) Mickelsen of Northfield, Dorothy (Harlan) Hjermstad of Kenyon, and Diane (Bob) Bergland of Stewartville; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His engaging nature belies his chosen monikers, Hi Prairie Hermit and Grumpy Old Man. He will be remembered and missed by many.
He and his family are grateful for the kindness of friends, and for compassionate care from personnel at The View where he lived in recent years.
Memorials are suggested to Wangen Prairie Lutheran Church.
