Curtis Joseph Flom, age 27, longtime resident of Nerstrand passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, October 18, 2011 as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Curtis was born in Northfield on November 11, 1983, the son of Robert and Tracey (Erdman) Flom. He graduated from Kenyon-Wanamingo High School in 2002. He worked construction for Whipple Construction during high school and after graduation until 2004. He was currently employed with Emery Maher construction and Greg Mills construction. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and 4-wheeling. He also loved sports; he enjoyed watching hockey, football and baseball, especially the Minnesota Wild and Twins. He liked to teach his mom, Tracey the rules of each sport when they watched together. Curtis will be remembered as a kind, courteous, good natured and easy-going guy. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his parents, Robert and Tracey Flom; brothers, Bryan and Adam (Nicole) Flom; sisters, Tiffany (Ty) and BriAnne Flom; grandmother, Sharon Erickson and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Gladys Flom; uncle, Steve Flom; and cousin, Corey Ryan. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 22 at 11:00 a.m. at the Vang Lutheran Church with Pastor Terje C. Hausken officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. Visitation will also be held at church on Saturday from 10-11 a.m.
