Colleen Marie O’Neill, age 80. Passed away on Saturday February 19, 2022, at the Mayo Medical Center, St. Mary’s Campus, in Rochester.
She was born on October 7, 1941, in Red Wing, the daughter of Victor and Katherine (Franklin) O’Neill. She enjoyed a simple life and took pleasure being social with family and friends, and volunteering at Cannon Rivers Senior Living where she resided the last nine years.
Colleen attended a rural school in Belle Creek and then graduated from Goodhue Public Schools in 1959. She enjoyed bowling with her friends and taking tours with the Belle Creek Project Group. She worked at Kid Duds in Cannon Falls for many years.
Survivors include her sisters Kathleen Freier and Mary Helen Forsell both of Cannon Falls, brothers David of Alexandria, Larry (Marlene) of Byron, and Mike (Val) of Owatonna; as well as 16 nieces and nephews. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, sister Peggy Yanisch, brothers-in-law Gerald Yanisch, Stanley Freier, Robert Forsell, and nephew Gregory Yanisch.
Memorials are preferred to the Lewy Bodies Dementia Association, St. Pius V Catholic Church, or the donor’s choice.
Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, Feb. 24, at 11:00 am, at St. Pius V Catholic Church, 410 W. Colvill, Cannon Falls, MN 55009. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the St. Columbkill/Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Belle Creek Township. Colleen’s service will be live streamed and may be viewed by clicking on the link below.
