Clarence R. Nelson, Jr., age 52, of Red Wing, died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at the Fairview Red Wing Medical Center in Red Wing.
Clarence was born on August 6, 1955 in Zumbrota, the son of Clarence R., Sr. and Helen L. (Stafford) Nelson. He attended school in Cannon Falls where he graduated with the class of 1974. In his younger years, Clarence enjoyed snowmobiling and fishing.
Clarence moved to Red Wing in 1982 and worked at the IRC for several years. From there he went to Hygenic Services for six years. He was currently employed by Treasure Island Casino, where he had worked for the last 8 1/2 years.
He would marry the former Marion Fick on May 18, 1996 in Red Wing, where they would make their home.
Clarence is lovingly survived by his wife, Marion; four step-children Nancy Fick (Kevin Yotter), Dan (Jami) Fick, Kathy and Heather; brother, Russel Nelson of Michigan; sister, Karen Nelson of South Dakota; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and cousin, Rolland Walker.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 15 at 2 pm at the First English Lutheran Church, in Cannon Falls, with Pastor Arthur Sharot officiating. Interment will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm at the Concordia Lutheran Church, 1805 Bush Street in Red Wing. There will also be visitation at First English Lutheran Church on Thursday from 1-2 p.m.
Active pallbearers will be Aaron Nelson, Aaron Nelson, Jeff Nelson, Gunner Nelson, Kevin Fasbbrg, and Eldon Jensen. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Hanson, Becky Hanson, John Jamison, and Leonard Jamison, Jr.
