She turned discoveries into learning experiences for her children. She enjoyed morel mushroom hunting, gardening (flowers, vegetables, strawberries and raspberries), and was an avid wine and liqueur maker. She loved music, playing the piano, singing and dancing. The family would have "polka parties" in the kitchen! She also taught her family the importance of news, and keeping in touch with local and world events. She loved to tell bible stories to her children as they were growing up.

She will be remembered most for her love of family, and her great story-telling abilities!
