Brian Neil Rich, age 60 of Cannon Falls, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021
Brian was born on September 8, 1960 to Ralph and Diane Rich, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He graduated from Fridley High School in 1979 and married Julie in 1982. Brian worked as an Air Traffic Controller from 1982 until he retired in 2006. He was an avid volunteer for youth athletics, Mat Rats, and the Dakota Curling Club. Brian was very proud to be a Level Two Curling Ice Technician. Above all, Brian loved his garden, especially pumpkins and wildflowers.
Brian is survived by his wife, Julie of Cannon Falls; children, JoBeth (Scott) Thompson of Lakeville, Jamie (Gavin) Hanson of St. Paul, and Ryan (Kelly) of White Bear Lake; grandchildren, Ella, Kate, Sam, Luke, Jack, Wyatt, and Reese; father, Ralph of Lakeville; sister, Cindy (Kelly) Barnes; niece, Amanda Barnes; sister-in-law, MaryEllen (Myron) Erickson of Roseau; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Phyllis) Sandberg, Kenny (Sharon) Sandberg, and Tom (Ida) Sandberg all of Princeton; his beloved dog, Kai; and many other loving family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Diane Rich; and both sets of grandparents, Clinton and Kay Sorlie and Ralph Sr. and Florence Rich.
A public visitation will be held 12 pm-2pm on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Lundberg Funeral Home (5839 Highway 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN 55009). A private family memorial service will also be held.
