Brenda Lindell

December 26, 1953 — June 20, 2024

Cannon Falls

Brenda Kay Lindell, age 70, a life-long resident of Cannon Falls, died at her home on Thursday morning, June 20, 2024, following an 11 year battle with multiple myeloma.

Brenda was born on December 26, 1953 in Red Wing, the daughter of Dean and Doris (Safe) Sauter, and she graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1972.

She married Merlyn Lindell on December 16, 1972 at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, and they raised two children together. Brenda worked as a waitress at West Wind Cafe for 10 years, and later as an optical assistant at the Cannon Eye Clinic for over 25 years.

Brenda enjoyed life from all angles! She enjoyed bowling in her early years, fishing, golfing, and playing cards. She was a great cook and enjoyed making meals. She was known to send home leftovers with her family. Always looking her best, she loved gathering with family and friends, socializing, and expressing her good sense of humor. Above all, her family was the most important thing in her life! She loved spending time up north on vacations with her family, and especially loved being with her grandchildren and following their activities. Nana will be deeply missed by her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Merlyn; her children, Lisa (Megan) Lindell of Rochester and Jamie (Michele) Lindell of Rosemount; grandchildren, Jada, Ari, and Taylor; brother, Ron (Ann) Sauter of Lakeville; sister, Bev (Terry) Ahlstrom of Burnsville; and many nieces, nephews and loving in-laws.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law, Bob Norstad and Gary Benson; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Norstad.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 27 at 11:00 am, with visitation from 10:00-11:00 am, at Spring Garden Lutheran Church, Cannon Falls. This service will be livestreamed and available to watch below. There will be lunch and fellowship to follow.
