Beverly Ann Gehrke, age 73 of Cannon Falls, died on Monday evening, June 16, 2014 at Diamond Rehab and Living of Cannon Valley (formerly Angels Care Center) in Cannon Falls. Bev was born on February 17, 1941 in Red Lake, MN, the daughter of Thomas Rolfe and Julia Stately. She grew up in Red Lake until the age of 5, and spoke fluent Chippewa, helping translate the language for local priests. She also helped teach Native American children in South Dakota. She graduated from Mission High School in San Francisco, CA in 1959 and married Wesley Lines in 1960. They had three sons together, and later divorced. She graduated from Dakota County Vo-Tech with her LPN degree and worked at Angels Care Center for over 20 years. She was known for her compassionate, caring nature. She married Leo Gehrke on January 5, 1984. Bev enjoyed gardening, garage sales, movies, music, and following the latest trends in People magazine. She loved her family, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Leo; sons, Wesley Lines of Winona, Daniel Lines of Skunk Hollow, and Shan Lines of Minneapolis; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; step children, Ann Marie Gehrke of Cannon Falls, Jason Gehrke, David (Leslie) Gehrke, Danny (Ilda) Gehrke and Jeff (Jessica) Gehrke, all of Denver, CO; 6 step-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren; siblings, Terry Law of Phoenix, AZ, Larry (Suzy) Law of Denver, CO, Desi Law of Phoenix, AZ and Kevin Law; half brother, Tom Rolfe of Honolulu, Hawaii; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Scott Shane; and sister, Michelle Law and Renae Law. LOCATION CORRECTION: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10-11 a.m., at First English Lutheran Church.
