Betty Robinson, age 90, of Stanton, died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, surrounded by her family. Betty Robinson was born on September 26, 1926 in Northfield Township, the daughter of Edwin and Matilda (Wutschke) Drentlaw. She grew up on her family's farm between Northfield and Faribault. She left school after the eighth grade to care for her mother. Betty worked various jobs as a young woman to help her family. She met Harry S. Robinson at a dance at the Cannon Valley Fairgrounds. On November 18, 1944 they were married at the Methodist Church in Northfield. They were married for 73 years. The couple farmed together near Stanton on the family's Century Farm. Betty worked for 37 years at Kid's Duds where she was a seamstress supervisor. She was a member of the Stanton United Methodist Church and the Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and was well known for her flowers and her rock garden. Betty also liked canning, playing cards and bingo, and dancing. Survivors include her husband Harry, children Betty Ann Johnson, Harry Lynn (Sharon) Robinson, Marlene Wilson, and Sharon Stone grandchildren Barbara Lund, Jared Robinson, Jackie Dulac, Larry Robinson Jr., Colleen Rapp, Jason Robinson, Paul Olson, Josh Robinson, Alison Pokrzywinski, Gordy Stone, Clayton Wilson, Sara Wilson, Chad Wilson, and Mary Stone; 25 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Betty is also survived by her brothers Lester Drentlaw, Chuck (Lois) Drentlaw, and Jimmy (Margaret) Drentlaw, sister Marlys (Henry) Proehl and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Larry, granddaughter Karla Jean, great-grandson Gavin Wilson, brothers Don, Roger, Edward, and Earl Drentlaw, and sisters Viola Gillispie and Doris Christopherson. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Riverwood Community Church in Cannon Falls. Visitation will be from 4-7:00 pm, Friday, March 3, 2017 at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in the Stanton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Betty's grandsons. Memorials are preferred to the Stanton United Methodist Church or the Stanton Cemetery.
