Beth Ann Strand was born the oldest of 3 siblings to Lyla and Joseph Harter on 12/16/53 in Manhattan, Kansas. She passed away at her home in Welch on the morning of 11/28/18.
She was a kind, giving and loving soul. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, time with family, puzzles and collecting rocks. She was a phenomenal cook and would spoil her family and friends with wonderful family dinners and tasty baked sweets.
She worked for a time in Hastings at the Cochran House as a chemical dependency counselor. She also pursued her love of gardening to become a master gardener. She loved to get her hands in the dirt and loved sharing her passion with friends and loved ones, especially her grandchildren.
She married Alan Strand on July 20, 1973 in Owatonna, Minnesota.
She will be missed by Alan Strand, her husband of forty-five years; son Dylan Strand and his wife, Tanya of Welch and her 3 grandchildren Graydon, Dayne and Adalynn; son Nathaniel Strand of Lakeville; brother Ken Harter of Northfield; sister Nancy Harter (Carl Neer) of Two Harbors; as well as many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and don’t forget her cuddly cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyla (Moore) and Joseph Harter of Owatonna; nephew Raymond; and Twitter Bug, her favorite kitty cat.
She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
