Benjamin Harold "Benji" Otto, age 45 of Welch, died peacefully on Sunday evening, September 10, 2023 at United Hospital in Saint Paul.
Benji was born the oldest child of Harold "Harry" and Karine (Jenson) Otto on October 3, 1977 in Red Wing. He became the proud older brother to Bridget three years later. He schooled in Cannon Falls and graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1996.
He worked for R.D. Offutt Potato Farm in Hastings for many years and later with Doug Gysbers Backhoe Service in Cannon Falls until his health declined.
Benji had many passions including hunting, fishing, ice fishing, riding 4-wheelers, playing cards (euchre) and dice, and especially hanging around with family. He could often be found holding a little cousin or sharing some laughs with his large family.
He is survived by his mom, Karine of Welch; sister, Bridget Wildeman (Craig Benson) of Cannon Falls; grandma, Connie Jenson of Red Wing; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry in 2014; grandparents, Elmer and Beldora Jenson and Harold and Ida Otto; brother-in-law, Jeremy Wildeman; and other beloved family members.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 16 at 11:00 am, with visitation from 9:00 am-11:00 am, at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church, Cannon Falls. Interment will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery.
Active casket bearers will be D.J. Otto, Jedd Otto, Jeff Burdick, Kevin Jenson, Kurt Jenson, and Paul Jenson. Honorary casket bearers will be his Godparents, Kim Osborn and Dave Otto.
