Belinda A. Peterson, age 64, 0f Dennison, died on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at her home.
Belinda was born on December 18, 1955, in Oelwein, IA, the daughter of Herbert and Barbara (Myers) Hahn. She grew up in the Oelwein area, graduating from Starmont High School in 1974. In 1978, Belinda received a bachelor’s degree in social work from Bethel College. Belinda was united in marriage to Keith Peterson on June 25, 1977 at St. Siebald Lutheran Church in Strawberry Point, IA. She worked for many years as a waitress at the Cannon Falls Country Kitchen, and as a Social Worker for the Northfield Retirement Center. Belinda was an active member of the Cornerstone Community Church in Northfield where she served as an Awana Director, a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Governing Board, and various other committees. She was a Big Brothers/Big Sisters Coordinator and on the Northfield Prayer Breakfast Committee. Belinda enjoyed sewing, the ocean, travel, family gatherings and reunions, reading her Bible and doing daily devotions.
Survivors include her husband Keith Peterson, son Nathan Peterson, daughter Jennifer (Jim) Joseph; grandchildren James Joseph, Phoenix Peterson, Jack Joseph, and Jonathan Joseph; sisters Rhonda (Paul) Larson and Shiela Schwarz; brothers Daniel (Ann) Hahn and DeLancey (Lori) Hahn; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother-in-law and father-in-law Roland and Mildred Peterson, and her brother-in-law Tom Schwarz.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 12, 2020 from 4-8:00 pm at Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN 55009. Masks and social distancing will be required, The memorial service will be on Tuesday, October 13, at 1:00 pm at the Cornerstone Community Church, 1313 Division St. S, Northfield, MN 55057. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Following Tuesday’s visitation, only family and funeral participants will meet for the service inside the church sanctuary due to COVID 19 restrictions. However, there will be a large tent with chairs set up on the front lawn of the church, for friends of Belinda and her family. The tent will have a large video screen so that the service can be seen and heard outside. Interment will be in the Cannon Falls Cemetery.
