Barry Smith

Barry Reay Smith, age 80 of Cannon Falls, died on Monday morning, April 1, 2024 at Mayo Clinic Hospital - Rochester, Methodist Campus.

Barry was born on December 21, 1943 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, the son of Melvin I. and Ardith J. (McNeal) Smith. He graduated from Onalaska High School in Onalaska, WI.

He married Delores Schrabeck on September 25, 1965 in La Crosse, and they later moved to Cannon Falls. Barry was a mechanic with Kid Duds in Cannon Falls, retiring after working there for over 29 years.

Barry loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He and Delores shared the love of fishing, a pasttime they had in common during their marriage of over 58 years.

Barry will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Delores; siblings, Brian (Cathy) Smith, Cheryl Smith, and Dale (Dawn) Smith; sister-in-law, Lill Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; their son, Kevin in 1986; brothers, Aaron, Cary, and Bruce Smith; and brother-in-law, Terry Smith.

A private family service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Barry's memory to the American Cancer Society.
