Arleigh Berg, age 77, of Austin, and formerly of Cannon Falls, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Arleigh was born on Sept. 17, 1945, in Red Wing, the son of Arleigh and Deloris (Pagel) Berg. He graduated from Cannon Falls High School. Arleigh was united in marriage to Barbara Suhr, of Kasson, on May 15, 1965. Arleigh worked as a cabinet maker for H. C. Osvold in Minneapolis for 50 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, and four-wheeling. He loved his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Bárbara; daughter Lisa (Jeff) Boucher; grandchildren Justin (Nichole Jahr) Boucher, Jared (Emily Nelson) Boucher, and Alexander Berg; siblings Mark (Lynne) Berg, Carol (Lenny) Berg, and Allyn Berg; brother-in-law Steve (Diane) Suhr; sisters-in-law Margie (Tom) Harrah and Deb (Chauncey) Jannings; step-brothers-in-law Barry, Loren, and Kelvin (Dawn) Bayne; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son David, his parents Arleigh and Deloris, parents-in-law Dean and Lois Suhr, and Dean’s second wife Joy (Bayne) Suhr.
Memorial services were held at Wangen Prairie Lutheran Church and a recording of the service may be viewed by clicking below.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Wangen Prairie Lutheran Church, the food shelf, or the donor’s choice.
