Allen Lundgren

Allen Ernest Lundgren, age 83 of Cannon Falls, died on Monday evening, June 6, 2016 at Three Links Care Center in Northfield. Allen was born on November 3, 1932 in Iron Mountain, Michigan, the son of Verner W. and Emma A. (Peterson) Lundgren. In his youth, he was a member of the Nelsonville Ev. Lutheran Church. He graduated from Amherst High School in Amherst, WI in 1950 and attended the University of Wisconsin Business College. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, being honorably discharged in 1955. He married Anne P. Holm on June 28, 1958 in Madison, WI. Allen was a salesman of farm equipment, working for P & D until the early 1980's. He later was employed at Rochester Silo, where he sold retaining walls in to the early 1990's. He was a member of the Masonic Oriental Lodge #34 in Cannon Falls. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and bowling. He is survived by his children, Dean (Heidi) Lundgren of Cannon Falls and Susanne (Dennis) Lambert of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Erik, Kirsten, and Britta Lundgren, Alec and Anne Lambert; sister, Helen (Clarence) Brockman of Elizabethtown, PA; sister-in-law, Myrtle Lundgren of Modesto, CA; and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 17 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation from 1-2 p.m., at First English Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. Interment with military honors will follow at the Cannon Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in Allen's name to Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org/donate‎).
